Apple Cranberry Pie Recipe
Oh my goodness you guys, I found this recipe on Pinterest over the summer and have been saving it to try this fall! I made it for my family’s Thanksgiving dinner and it was a hit! I am not much of a baker, you can ask Tyler about my banana bread extravaganza and the chaos that was fruit pizza if you really don’t believe me, BUT this recipe was so easy and so yummy. It does come out a little tart (I like it that way), but you can always use fewer cranberries if you like it sweeter.
For the full recipe go to http://www.savoringthegood.com! Sarah has a TON of great recipes for other things too!!
So first, I peel and cut up all of my apples! Sarah says she uses 1 1/2 lbs… I don’t actually know how many apples that is, so I used about 4 large Granny Smith apples! Then add your FRESH cranberries. The colors of this pie are so beautiful…
Next, mix up all of your dry ingredients. Again, I changed up the recipe and only did 1 teaspoon of lemon zest because I knew the kids at our Thanksgiving wouldn’t love a strong lemon flavor!
Now, mix it all up and give your apples and cranberries a good coat! Pour it into your pie crust (I just use the pre-made pie crusts from the store… again, I’m not a baker.) Cut up your butter and spread the pieces evenly throughout your pie. DO NOT FORGET THE BUTTER…. I totally almost did, thank goodness my mom was supervising and Sarah puts this in the instructions twice!
Now you can finish it off with whatever kind of crust you like on the top! I took the second pre-made pie crust and laid it on the top of the pie. Slice 4 holes in the top just to make sure it has plenty of ventilation! Then I took my pie crust cookie cutters from Williams Sonoma and used an extra crust to make some decorative leaves and apples, you can find those here. I also did an egg wash on my pie crust to make it shiny. If you want to do that, combine an egg and a splash of milk in a bowl, use a brush to cover your pie with an even, light coating. Cover the edges of your pie to make sure they don’t burn and stick that baby in the oven.
Thank you all for reading! I hope your Thanksgiving was amazing and you all got to spend time making memories with your loved ones!

Happy Wednesday! I wanted to share with you all one of my favorite sweaters from J.Crew’s most recent collection. There is something about a cable knit sweater that draws me in every time. I love the delicate details on this one and the fabric is so soft and cozy.
These riding boots are another one of my favorites (and borrowed out of my Mom’s closet because my pair is currently covered in mud, I took the riding boot name a little too seriously, oops.) Arturo Chiang makes amazing boots, I love the quality and style, they never disappoint!
I can’t wait to keep you all updated on my holiday adventures! For those of you who don’t follow me on Instagram or Facebook, I announced yesterday that I will be hosting a Sweet Pea event at the J.Crew in Briarwood Mall! Don’t make plans for December 3rd if you’re going to be in the area, I would love to have you all come shop with me!! I’ll keep you all updated on the specific details.

Happy Tuesday my friends! If you follow me on Instagram you probably saw that I spent the weekend in Chicago with my girlfriends from college! It was such a blast and I wanted to share one of my favorite outfits from the weekend with you guys.
As most of you know, I’m a visual and sales associate at J.Crew in Michigan, I’m always scoping out my favorite items the day we get them in. This vest I absolutely could not live without. Tyler was making fun of me when I ordered it… but you guys, how cute is this?! It’s so versatile and warm.
Thanks for stopping by! Hope y’all are having a great week!

So, as most of you know, I have been working on quite a project for work and I am SO excited to finally share it with all of you. Recently, our little agency has taken on the project of opening a recovery engagement center where people can come and meet with a recovery coach to plan their recovery from substance use! We received a very generous grant to help us open this facility and so our work began. We found the perfect building to purchase and renovate, and now that all of our work is done and Pathways Recovery Engagement Center is open I want to share it with all of you. My role in this project was doing the interior design work! Phew! What a project… major props to Joanna Gaines who does this every day.
So here is what we started with… a building in desperate need of some demolition and some love!
Seriously though… blue bathroom? No thanks! So, after a good amount of demolition, ripping up floors, knocking down walls, rebuilding, and LOTS of shopping we have this!! Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you all enjoyed seeing a little peek into my very big project! It was so much fun and such a learning experience for me. Have a great weekend!
